Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:53AM I started working on this piece last summer. It has been slow going, but now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The figure part is pretty much finished. It will take a few more days to do the background.
I am very satisfied with this body of graphite work, but I feel I need to switch the medium so that I can work a little faster for the next piece.
Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 01:17PM I have finished 1/3 of this drawing from the top. I am happy about the way this is going so far. We cancelled our trip to Hungary and Austria this Christmas, so I might be able to finish this a little earlier than I antiipated...
Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 05:01PM Last week I started working on the part 2 of Vanitas 3 diptych. This one has a smaller amount of fabric and more flesh tones, so I am hoping it will be a little quicker to finish. The size is exactly the same as the part 1: 21" x 14".
Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:16AM I finally finished the graphite part of this drawing. I am still undecided if I should add a watercolor part to the bottom of this. I am going to make up my mind when I finish the part 2 of this diptych.
Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11:59PM After a year of interruption, I finally got back to working on Vanitas #3 I had started last summer. This image has soooo much fabric in it and I am using graphite, so it is naturally going very slow. On top of that, I have been working on another project simultaneously right now (I am going to post on this 2nd project shortly). So that too is slowing down the progress of this piece. Anyway, I have almost finished 1/3 of the piece. This is going to be part 1 of a diptych. I hope I can complete this part 1 before the end of this summer.
