I tried this technique on painting oil on the sized paper with PVA glue after seeing Mary Jane Ward's demo. I found it was, in a way, similar to heightened chalk drawing taking advantage of the color and value of the ground you worked on. But the total non-absorbent surface of PVA glue was a little tricky to work on.
