Graphite on Bristol board, 20" x 14", 2021.

After going through several design and concept changes, this is finally completed. I did not have an ideal source material to begin with. The original negative which was nearly 20 years old was severely over-exposed in the face area during the photo session with no discernable highlight textures. I struggled, trying to find a right solution to get the best out of what I had. I took advantage of the lack of highlight texture and turned it around to make it work. The end result is different from what I originally envisioned but the message is still there, pretty intact. Overall I am fairly happy with what I ended up with.
