Graphite and colored pencils on Bristol board, 15.5" x 18", 2021.

What I like about this piece is that there is a little touch of underwater feel to it. The nautilus shell my model is holding certainly conjures up the association but also the way the semi-translucent fabric wraps around her body reminds me of the way seaweeds (or jelly fish?) behave in the water, and the look of the background wall also reminds me of a kind of rock surface often seen along the coastline exposed to the elements over time.
